Deep Dive: Farm to Fork

ABOUT

This game is a two-player co-op game where a farmer and a chef work together to make sure the food critics get the meal they want. The game is split screen, where the farmer controls the left half (depicting a farm where they grow and process crops) and the chef controls the right half (where they turn processed crops into usable ingredients and then into food for the critic).

  • Established a cohesive color palette and art style to unify the farm and kitchen environments

FINAL PRODUCT

  • I really enjoyed collaborating with classmates, many of whom I’d already been friends with, which made the production process both enjoyable and relaxed

  • I had a lot of creative freedom in designing characters which allowed me to explore ideas and contribute meaningfully without feeling stressed.

  • The project gave me valuable experience in taking ownership of visual design, from initial concept sketches to final in-game assets.

  • While I enjoyed the artistic side, I wish I had been more involved in the game design process, as it could have helped me produce even stronger, more integrated work.

  • Overall, this project was a meaningful learning experience that helped me grow as an artist and better understand the collaborative nature of game development.

  • Polished visual details and characters, making the farm and kitchen feel engaging and readable in split-screen

  • Integrated assets into the game, iterating with team feedback to enhance player experience
